Blue fin Tuna
Selas events
Every year, during the Bluefin tuna season, Chef Or Ginsberg launches a special campaign for a series of dining events in which he fillets an enormous Bluefin tuna live in front of the guests. The campaign needed to highlight the significance and beauty of this remarkable fish in as many visual ways as possible.
For the storefront sticker promoting the event, I chose to feature a Bluefin tuna against two backgrounds: a white space; creating a modern, clean, almost clinical atmosphere, paired with a black slate (“Tziphcha”) image, one of the chef’s signature plating materials. I tinted the slate with a subtle blue sheen to maintain a connection to the sea.

With the chef's help, I created a filleting map that was placed on each table. I illustrated the tuna to give it a slightly less emotionally triggering appearance, while subtly marking the locations of the cuts the diners will see during the live demonstration.

Finally, through a collaborative process with the management team, we designed the VIP card given to guests at the exclusive event. The card is paired with a custom, tuna-shaped metal fork that we cut and stamped with the restaurant’s logo. The card itself is finished in deep ocean blues with silver foil accents reminiscent of fish scales.
